Most automotive markets may not be so welcoming with minivans but with the 2019 Ford C-Max, we could make an exception. This automaker has been known to produce some of the most cherished vehicles of all times. The promise we get with the 2019 Ford C-Max is an optimization in performance as well as an improved outlook. There is more space in the cabin enough to comfortably accommodate up to five passengers. The seats are also furnished to enhance your experience and there are a few advancements in the display, easily accessible to keep the driver focused. The outlook may not be as breathtaking but ultimately, the powerful drivetrain and the general meliorated performance are exactly what the modern day families need.
2019 Ford C-Max – Stylish and Sleeker Design
The 2019 Ford C-Max is built on more or less the same platform as the Focus. From the front, the new model appears more stylish and sleeker considering the inverted trapezoid-shaped grille. The headlights are more chiseled and considerably slimmer and as a bonus, they offer auto-correcting adaptive lighting. The rear fascia has a more refined tailgate that is operated through hands-free kick gestures. There is really not much change to expect with the sides. Furthermore, the cabin of the 2019 Ford C-Max is more spacious which gives more room for passengers.
The styling of the interior is not so different from the Focus but features cleaner and user-friendly controls. However, the glovebox and the console have been redesigned to provide more utility. The notable features that stand out in this vehicle include the new sync system that features voice-activated 3D navigation system. The 10-speaker Sony system and the high-resolution 8.0-inch touch screen display are something to look forward to as well.
Performance Under the Hood
Under the hood, we expect the new Ford C-Max to have two relatively different drivetrains; a plug-in hybrid and a conventional hybrid. The plugin will have a more elaborate motor that draws power from a 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery and regenerative braking as well. This could power the car for about 19 miles if running exclusively on electric power. The Energi will also feature a 120-volt charger that can recharge the battery for 5 hours but there is an alternative, a 240-volt charger that significantly reduces the recharge time to 2 and a half hours. When the battery is depleted, it will work like a typical hybrid vehicle.
For the conventional hybrid, the 2019 Ford C-Max features a 2.0 liter 4-cylider engine. With a combination of an electric motor, it will have 188 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque. For this option, power is channeled through a CVT transmission.
Since the 2019 Ford C-Max will be provided in two trims, the price will not be as high though not particularly exceptional. If by the release in late 2018 Ford provides the potential customers with a more luxurious hybrid, we could be talking of an MSRP ranging between $24,995 to $30,995. This car will hit the market in late 2018 and be sold as a 2019 model.
